You're looking for the best thermal spa for you and your child in Austria - here are our tips!
I'll show you where you can find the most varied and family-friendly adventure spas in Austria and show you why we think these spas are exceptionally great with children.
Boredom at the spa is a thing of the past! Be inspired by our top spas!
Each spa has a different focus and is therefore aimed more at toddlers or older children. Here I give my personal assessment of which spa is particularly suitable for which age.
TOP thermal spa in Styria: H20 Kindertherme
The H20 Kindertherme is our personal favorite spa with a toddler!
It is a comparatively smaller children's spa, but it has a lot of fun and action to offer!
In the indoor area you will find several shallow pools, including a gently sloping entrance and a wave pool, as well as a slide.
There is a separate toddler area with a slide and some splash elements.

What we particularly like here is that water toys are provided free of charge by the children's spa. There is also a relaxation area right next to it for naps, as well as a softly lined baby area and an indoor play area for toddlers, where you can take advantage of free childcare. Perfect for getting your child out of the warm water!

During the summer months, the outdoor area with two large pools is of course also available. There are plenty of shady spots, a great playground and two air castles!
The rooms at the H20 Therme are beautiful and modern. The cuisine is excellent! We are always delighted with the food. Thanks to the children's buffet, our son is also well catered for.
Some non-alcoholic drinks are included during meal times when you book half board. You'll also find vegan dishes here!

In my opinion, the H2O Kindertherme is perfectly suited to the needs of babies and smaller children from around 0 to 8 years old.
Here you can find more impressions of the H2O Therme. Book now? Click here to go to the H2O Therme website.
Too expensive? We know a beautiful and well-equipped vacation apartment including breakfast in Stegersbach, which is about a 20-minute drive from the H2O Therme. This way!

Top thermal spa in Burgenland: Kindertherme Lutzmannsburg
The Lutzmannsburg children's spa is considered the most beautiful baby and children's spa in Austria. It has a wide range of facilities, from several baby pools with splash elements, to slides for toddlers, slides for older children and real "speed slides" (including a 3D slide), which can be used by teenagers and adults.
You will also find a wave pool and a diving tower.

In the outdoor area there is a large wave slide, great playgrounds and a small leisure park.
The Kindertherme Lutzmannsburg offers the largest range of facilities in Austria! The spa is tailored to the needs of children aged 0 to 99.
We really like this spa and have been there several times. Personally, though, it's just a little too big for me with a small child. As soon as our son is older (and slides more) we will certainly come here more often. Here you can find our impressions of the Kindertherme Lutzmannsburg.

If you are looking for affordable accommodation near the thermal baths, I can recommend a vacation apartment or vacation home from Family XL can be recommended. Breakfast is included here and you have direct underground and heated access to the thermal baths.

Top thermal spa in Burgenland: 4* Therme Allegria in Stegersbach
For me, Therme Allegria is a classic family spa, as it focuses on the needs of everyone - not just children.
The indoor area features a spacious pool with white water whirlpools, a wave pool and several toddler pools with splash elements. You will also find three slides here!

Right next to the thermal baths there is a large indoor playground and leisure activities for older children, such as table tennis or billiards.

The outdoor area is particularly impressive with its large water playground! There is also a large pool, a toddler pool, two pools for relaxing and a meter-high fountain that is switched on once an hour!

A little further away there are several playgrounds, including a water playground, two air castles and trampolines!
What we particularly liked here is that there is a playroom for small children in the restaurant area and a buffet for children at eye level!
Here you can find our impressions of Therme Allegria in Stegersbach. Book now? Click here to go to the Therme Allegria website.
Too expensive? We know a beautiful and well-equipped vacation apartment including breakfast in Stegersbach, which is only a few minutes away from the thermal spa. This way!

Top thermal spa in Vienna: Therme Wien
Therme Wien consists of nine different areas with a total of 20 pools. So far, we have explored the adventure area of the spa, which was specially designed for children.
Here you will find a large pool with a diving tower, two slides and a large shallow pool with wild whirlpools and splash elements for babies and toddlers.

In the outdoor area you will find a great landscape for toddlers and babies and a wave slide that ends up in the large pool.

There is a toddler playground in the restaurant area , which can be ideally viewed from all sides. Perfect!

Top thermal spa in Carinthia: Warmbad Villach
The Warmbad Villach really surprised us with its 1,100m² FUN area with adventure stations!
In the indoor area you will find a separate toddler pool with a baby slide and spray jets.

In the slightly larger area, there are lots of slides of varying degrees of difficulty for toddlers and children. We found this particularly great, as the baby slide was too boring for my son and "real" slides were not yet possible for him.
For older children there is a "Crazy River" which can be navigated with a buoyancy aid. Pure action!

The outdoor area is quiet with a large pool, but offers a great water playground for children! We really liked the water playground, but unfortunately the water here was cold - it's nice and warm in the spa!
A clear recommendation for babies, toddlers and children! Here you can find our impressions of the Warmbad Villach. Book now? Click here to go to the thermal spa website.
Too expensive? We stayed in a lovely 2-room apartment with a balcony and private parking space right opposite the spa! Click here for our impressions of the apartment.
Top thermal spa in Salzburg: Erlebnistherme Amadé
This adventure spa is characterized by its many difficult slides, including a looping slide! The looping slide is unique in Austria!
If you are traveling with older and action-seeking children, you should definitely not miss out on this thermal spa!

There is also a diving tower, wave pool, white water whirlpools and a water climbing wall and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains from everywhere.
There is an extra area with a toddler slide for small children. We really liked the thermal spa with toddlers, but as it primarily has many challenging slides to offer and the toddler area is rather small, I can highly recommend the thermal spa for a visit with older children (12+)! Here you can find our impressions of Therme Amadé.

Looking for accommodation? We stayed in the beautiful and affordable vacation apartment at the Sonnbergferienanlage , which has an excellent offer for families. The Sonnberg holiday resort is just a few minutes' drive from the thermal spa. Click here for our impressions of the Sonnberg holiday resort. Book now? Top thermal spa in Salzburg: Alpentherme Badhofgastein
With a toddler we visited the adventure area of the Alpentherme Badhofgastein
There are two pools for toddlers in the indoor area with some play equipment, including a seesaw (I've never seen that before!).
It's very nicely designed!

Right next to it is the large pool with a wild whirlpool and waterfall. There are two slides available for children aged 8 and 10.
The indoor area is small. So if you are looking for a nice and smaller spa with a child, this is the one for you.
In the outdoor area, there is a large pool, a playground, a wave slide and a toddler pool.
The views of the surrounding mountains are stunning! Here you can find our impressions of the Alpentherme Badhofgastein.

Looking for accommodation? We stayed at the beautiful and family-friendly 4* Hotel Alpenklang with half board in Grossarl, which is about a 40-minute drive from the accommodation. Highly recommended! Excellent cuisine! Here you can find our impressions of the accommodation.

Top thermal spa in Lower Austria: Römertherme Baden
Admittedly the Römertherme Baden is a small and rather quiet thermal spa! There's not so much for children here, but we still liked it very much!

The spa is flooded with light thanks to its large windows! You will find a large pool with various jets and an extra shallow pool for babies.
Right next to the bathing area there is a small indoor playground for babies and toddlers. Really great!

As the thermal spa is quiet and has less to offer for children, but has a lovely baby pool and an indoor playground, we think this thermal spa is particularly great for a visit with a child aged between 0 and 3 years or if you want to enjoy a relaxing day in the warm water.
Here you can find our impressions of the Römertherme Baden.
